Exhausted Emma making plans

So last night I did Body Blitz followed by Body Pump. For those who don't know, Body Blitz is lots of different moves to music. I felt lost, to say the least. Everyone else knew what they were doing... not my thing to be honest. So with an aching body I biked home, had dinner and went to bed. Friday morning I was back at the gym for a 7am spinning class. Feels good to be back training for real now :)

I'm starting to make plans for some weekends. On Saturday morning I'm taking the train to Colchester. Gonna meet up with Lizzy and Rike for some training, shopping and food. Will spend the night at a friend's and then meet up with more people on Sunday. I will be going to Colchester again in two weeks time. Fresher's week cannot be missed when I'm this close.
In mid-November I'm going to travel up to Dundee (northeast of Edinburgh) and see my old IB friend Ida. The cheapest way of getting there is by bus, however that takes 10hours one way. I might still do that and go over night. Fun fun fun. What do you do to entertain yourself for 10 long hours? Suggestions are welcome.

P.s. If you're wondering why I've put London as start of destination, the reason is that there are no buses straight from Ipswich, so I first have to take the train into London (1h+).

Pump it up!

What a Monday!
Work all day from 8:30am until 5:30pm. I'm trying to save in some flexie time so I can take half a day off sometime soon. But should I start late or finish early?
After work I biked to gym. I was almost there when I realised I had forgotten my gym shoes! Goddamn it! Had to bike all the way back to the house, then back to the gym. Nice warm-up! It was time to try what many of my friends and my sister have been talking about for ages... BODYPUMP! My verdict... I like it!! Much much better than freakin pilates and yoga. Have that good feeling now u only get after having done exercise. Then I got back around 8pm to find that Kirsty had made me dindins! So sweet :)

My sister wanted to know some more about my work place so I will share something lil' with you.

You know how englishmen have the reputation to be tea drinkers. I have never been able to say it is as true as it is at this office. I sit right by the little mini-kitchen, and I tend to loose count of how many times per day I'm asked if I want tea. I normally accept twice - once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Milk, no sugar.

Work is going well. Tomorrow me and my supervisor Nat will have a meeting w the boss. I'm gonna show what I've done so far and he will say whether that's what they're expecting or not, and what changes I should do. A bit nervous, but should be fine.

WEEKEND!

My first true proper weekend. At least so it felt. At Hornbach I worked every other weekend so was never the same thing. On Saturday I signed up for a gym called "Gym & Trim" http://www.gymandtrim.co.uk/ I did one short hour session and signed up for four classes for the following week. Im on a roll! :)

Saturday evening me and Kirsty joined in on some birthday celebration for a friend of her boyfriend's. Went to one pub and then a club. Got back 4am in the morning after a really awesome night.

The Routine

3 days into my internship I have started to establish some sort of routine to my day. Wake up before 7am, go out for a short run 15-20min, shower, breakfast, bike to work. Here are some pictures of the place.

After work today Kirsty came and picked me up by car to go see Richard in Colchester. Driving to Colchester takes roughly 30 min. Felt so weird being back. Going into Tesco. Seeing students walking with all their carrier bags. Everything same old same old... with one major difference. It's no longer my world. I don't live there. I'm no longer a student! However this does not mean that I will not try to extend the feeling of being a student as long I can. I already have plans of returning there for a long weekend in a few weeks.

First Day

I had a really great weekend getting settled with Kirsty and her family. I bought a new phone since I have lost my other one in true Emma style (ask for number if u wanna be able to reach me). I also had to get a bike since this is the best way of getting to work. We managed to find one at JJB Sports for £100. Dut due to some complaining about a scratch I got 10% off. And since I got a £10 gift certificate, the bike was not more than £80. Great deal! Kirsty then took me to her favourite place, Maybush for some lunch.

In the evening we ate Sunday Roast - as you do in England. Unfortunately on Sunday evening/night a black cloud drifted into my head. SVERIGEDEMOKRATERNA (The Swedish version of the BNP) - I mean seriously? I should contemplate becoming a British citizen for real. DÅLIGT SVERIGE! Just because you do not like the options available, do not choose the infamous party which has strict anti-immigration policies and is completely backwards, wanting Sweden to become like in the 50s - there is a blank box for a reason - HELLO!!!!

Today I started my new job. Did not sleep well at all. Waking up every hour or so. I wish I could have slept as nice and deep as dear Bob who was snorring worse than my sister down by my feet. Got to work in good time. My supervisor was there to greet me and show me around. I was given a desk, a computer and a phone. OMG! I'm an adult!! EEEeeekkkk! Then I had to go through a whole bunch of paperwork (as you do when u start a new job). And then I was left to myself. In the beginning I felt completely lost as to what I was suppose to be doing... but after having looked through plenty of files I realised that before doing anything I must create order in their file system. It appears I will be working really independently, more than I expected, and I'm liking it. My supervisor told me to do the project the way I want too. She had a look at what I have done today and she was impressed.

So to sum up - Good first day (but never again wear short sleaves since its cold)!

New Place, Old People

So I'm back in dear old England. Arrived mid-day on 17th Sept. Miss Kirsty Morgan picked me up from Stansted and took me to my home for 3 months - her childhood home in Ipswich. I'm officially now an honorary Morgan. I live in the room that used to be her twinbrother Daniel' room, before he moved - check this out - to Sweden. Convenient exchange or what? It all takes some getting used to, but I believe I will have 3 great months here in Ipswich. This morning I took the dog Bob (a girl) out for a walk to explore the neighbourhood. Here's two pictures...

Bob was super excited to be out exploring in the sunshine!

I'm looking forward to this evening as Lizzy White will be joining us for a laugh - movie - cake - session in true Tangerine - style. Me, Lizzy and Kirsty have been living together all three years at university (two of which we lived at Tangerine Close).

Monday the 20th I will be starting my internship at Suffolk ACRE:

I'm sooo nervous! Keep your fingers crossed for me.
