One more week...

Not much to go now. One week left of my contract. 80ish students left in Jersey. Yesterday I spent an hour surfing with the host family in the evening. The waves were 2 feet, the sun was shining and the tide was high.

On a different note, I have been accepted onto my Masters in "Strategisk Kommunikation" at Lund's University. While I'm bit nervous about how it will feel to get back to studying, I'm really excited. I have also been accepted onto a distance course in Graphic Design. Earlier this week I splashed out and bought Adobe CS5.5 Design Standard, which includes Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Acrobat. I will be very busy this coming fall, especially considering that I will try to find a part-time job. If you don't see me much, don't worry...It is not because I'm ignoring you or don't like you ;)

Countdown!

Crazy town is no longer so crazy. Thank god for that! We have had our last arrival. From now the number of students will only decrease. Today I had time for a short little surf even. It wasn't great weather but still a lot of fun. I'm very proud to be able to go alongside the wave, even if just for a little bit :)
I now have 13 days left of my contract with STS. On day 14 my friend James will come to Jersey for a visit and then come along to Paris. I can't wait to have some holiday!

Farewell with mixed emotions

Got a little appreciation gift from head quarters in the UK yesterday. Accepting it as a token for job well done (so far!)

Yesterday we said our goodbyes to 242 students and 15 leaders. Seeing them all leave was a massive relief and weight off my shoulders, but at the same time I was sad to see the leaders leave. Will miss them!


Today we had a new arrival. 31 students and 1 leader. Wonderfully small and easy group! 16 days left of my contract now. I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Busy Little Bee

So life in crazy town continues. I know I'm complaining a lot about working hard long hours and not sleeping enough, but to clearify... I still somehow like it! Maybe I'm going bit crazy, who knows?

I have now managed to pull roughly 300 people through 5 days of a full activity schedule in Jersey. So far now major problems on my front... (touch wood). Today (in 45 minutes time) a group of almost 50 people are leave Jersey to go for a full-day excursion to Sark. I'm so jealous!! I really want to go too. Maybe I can go with the last group of the summer.

I was a really good girl this morning and went up 6am to go for a run. Just as I got around the last corner I felt something burning on my thigh. I slapped something away... must have been a bee. So now I've officially be stung for the third time in my life. It sucks!

Dooms Day!

I circled the date sunday 3rd of July red in my calender weeks back. DOOMS DAY! Arrival of a massive group of students. 242 students and 16 leaders to be exact. And all arriving at the exact same time in the harbour. I must say however that things went remarkably smooth. This is how it goes when you work with a good team and everyone do what they are meant to do. Big thanks to all STS staff!

Today I've been speaking infront of two big groups of people. One of 160 and one of 100. Standing on a stage. Something has happened in these past few weeks as normally I would have been shaking.Today I was not at all nervous!
